This two-year program prepares you to earn a living as an accountant. Students study accounting procedures and theory, auditing, taxation, law, information systems and management. The program features a practical tie-in to industry and computer technology.

Students learn hands-on computer skills with Access, Excel, Simply Accounting and ACCPAC Plus and can access the Humber Accounting Centre and WebCT for assistance outside of the classroom. As well, qualified graduates may be eligible to apply their academic credits toward further study at many postsecondary institutions, or complete the designation to be a certified general accountant (CGA).

Students learn about assisting in daily living activities, personal care and hygiene, restorative/activation exercises, and home management activities, using new practice labs with the latest technology. Our program has language and technology courses designed specifically to assist you in acquiring preferred hiring status in the health-care field.

In Humber's program, it's our mandate to ensure that students go into the field highly skilled. To this end, we apply a team approach. Students will find that the faculty members are highly motivated and dedicated. Over the last 14 years, the Child and Youth Worker program has enjoyed an extremely high rate of graduate employment. Job placement is consistently high, averaging around 90 per cent.

Our program is taught by practising lawyers and provides you with the practical legal knowledge in research, drafting, analysis and theory you need to succeed as a law clerk or legal assistant. Under a lawyer's direction, corporate law clerks maintain corporate documents, file documents, complete real estate transactions, draft contracts, conduct title searches, and complete research. In a litigation office, duties involve filing documents with the courts, interviewing clients and witnesses, drafting, researching and accompanying a lawyer to meetings, as well as court appearances. Students engage in real-life work experiences through our co-op program in both small and large private firms, and in the public sector.

Humber's program enjoys an excellent reputation within the criminal justice community - and for good reason. Managed by a core of full-time professors, the curriculum is updated frequently to ensure its content is current and relevant. Humber's Centre for Justice Studies Advisory Committee provides the view, knowledge, enthusiasm, and leadership of those members of the community most involved in this particular vocational area.

Skilled and caring faculty with real-life work experience in the public and private policing professions teach courses covering core knowledge. Additionally, experts who are current in their fields provide specialized training.

Each year the program hosts an on-campus job fair for graduating students. Employers with job prospects are invited to set up interviews and obtain resumes. In addition, various police services provide recruiting and information sessions on campus each year.
